This is a pretty common question. There are many “big guys” (this is how I call them) that have some bucks and want to get some traffic instead of them. Maybe you are one of that “big guys” and that’s why I am writing this article.

Ok, so which is the best way to spend your money for getting some traffic? Actually, it depends very much on your niche. Most of you would tend to say “Adsense for the win!” but if you want to promote a great tech blog I would recommend you to use Chitika.

I think that that another great way to spend your money in order to get some traffic is by paying a seo master! Google has a great potential for sending thousands of targeted visitors to your site, and it’s kinda cheap to pay a seo master that will rank you high for some keywords that will send you traffic long time from now.

Or, you could be more creative and a little crazy. I live in Romania, and the elections are running. Many people want get popular, and one of them found a really crazy idea of promoting himself – eggvertising or advertising on eggs:

Let’s be serious now. Another method ( I didn’t try it so I can’t say if it’s good or not ) it’s buying some text ad links. I have a feeling that this way of advertising is worth the money, but I can’t be sure.

All in all, it’s all on you! You have to decide how you want to spend the money. But my best recommendation is to hire a seo master!

This is an interesting wordpress plugin. What it does? Well, when you mouseover a commentator name, something will appear, showing you some information about the person. Here’s a screenshot:

I find it very useful because I always like to keep in touch with the commentators of my blog, a blog is nothing without its commentators. Using this plugin, you could actually track their activity on your blog.

I hate when this happens. Let’s say that I’m a loyal visitor of your blog, I read it every day. You have posted a great but long article, full of text, pictures and even a little movie. And you didn’t split it! What if I enter the index of the blog and I would like to read the second article? I have to scroll down a little. This is frustrating.

Twitter is an extraordinary tool for so called “micro-blogging”, you know .. you can’t just blog everything on a normal blog, I can’t say here what I am doing, because this is a blogging tips blog so I don’t want to tell you what I ate and so on. But on twitter I can do that, actually most of the members do that!

Ok, so you have an account at twitter, a blog, and you want to have your twitter updates in your sidebar. This is an easy step but at first sight it may seem to bevery complicated. I know good and strong blogs that have been banned from stumbleupon, for example dodevice.com which was is still is a powerful tech related blog, but the traffic had a significant decrease because of that ban.

How should you protect your account and blog? Well don’t ask for stumbles anymore, make some big breaks in requesting stumbles and naturally grow your profile! Stumble/discover/review everything you like! Spend some minutes per day doing that, and you’ll grow in strength.
