Today’s discovery – “comment info tip”

This is an interesting wordpress plugin. What it does? Well, when you mouseover a commentator name, something will appear, showing you some information about the person. Here’s a screenshot:

I find it very useful because I always like to keep in touch with the commentators of my blog, a blog is nothing without its commentators. Using this plugin, you could actually track their activity on your blog.

Comment info tip can be downloaded from here.

You should really link to the blog, not just a hotlink to the file.

I came across this plugin yesterday for the first time on a blog. It’s an interesting idea. But maybe some people don’t want to be tracked in this way? Could that be the other side of the coin? I’m unsure.

That’s a good point, but I don’t see why the commentators will have something against this plugin, it only provides a little history of that person, where he/she has commented, no ip shown or e-mail.

And I forgot to mention that there’s something good for the commentator too! If you haven’t noticed, when mouseover your nickname it appears the last post of your blog. I think that this is a great aspect of the plugin :) .

I think I probably agree after thinking about it. That the pros outweigh the cons. And, I think it’s very cool that they get to see your last post when they hover the pointer over your nickname.

Yep, I really like it. If there will be many complains, I will remove it, but so far everything seems to be ok :) .
