How to change Google’s favicon to the old one

Google changed its favicon with a new and stupid one, personally I don’t like it at all and I would like to change it back to the old, classical one. I found a great way to do that.

There is a Greasmonkey script that runs with Firefox and Safari, sorry for the Internet Explorer or Opera users. Ok, so to do that you first need to install the Greasemonkey script like an add-on for the browser, and after restarting the browser, you’ll see the link for installing it. After doing that, here is what I got:

Well, I heard many people complaining about the new Google favicon so I thought that I will make them happy writing this.

How does google’s favicon show up in IE (IE8 in this case) every time I load the page, but my own does not on my web site!?!?!
I cleared my cache, deleted the site from my favs and added it again, and you name it a thousand times but unsuccesful every time! However, after doing all the above the google favicon re-appears every time :@

I have my favicon.ico in my site root and in the head of the document I have
I know it works because I get it in Firefox.

One other thing… when I look at google’s source I don’t see any favicon link (or any mention) of their favicon. How do they add it? Anyone know?

    Peace!
